The Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (AI Lab) is proud to be partner and, jointly with the University of Tokyo, initiator of the "AI Lectures from Tokyo".
Located at the Department of Information Technology (IFI) in a modern building next to the train station of Oerlikon/Zurich, the AI Lab is the host institute to an international group of students and researchers in the field of New Artificial Intelligence/Cognitive Science. Current research projects include Navigation/Locomotion, Collective Behavior, Embodied Artificial Evolution, and Developmental Robotics. The highly trans- and interdisciplinary nature of these projects attracts students from a diversity of backgrounds, such as biology, psychology, medicine, computer science, economy, or social sciences.
The Department of Information Technology is part of the Faculty of Economics, Business Management and Information Technology of the University of Zurich. It comprises approximately 100 researchers. Its main building is located at the Irchel campus, from where there are several direct tramway connections to the AI Lab, the University's central building, or even to the Lake of Zurich.
