AI Lectures From Tokyo

You are possibly using an outdated browser (probably Netscape 3 or 4). This site makes heavy use of modern standards that are not supported by this generation of browsers. You are therefore not experiencing the site in its full capacity. We urge you to consider upgrading to Mozilla or another standards-compliant browser. We strongly discourage the use of Internet Explorer due to security reasons. If you are using a text-based browser, then ignore this. I would be very interested to hear your impressions.

Downloads

Adobe Acrobat Reader

Most of the downloadable content (lectures, exercises, etc.) on this site comes as PDF files. You need the free Acrobat Reader from Adobe to view these files. Note that UNIX clients probably also have other means (gv, xpdf, kghostview).

MPlayer

On UNIX platforms, MPlayer is a very nice media player that can be used to view the recorded and live videos of the lectures. Instructions for installing MPlayer on Debian GNU/Linux can be found on Christian Marillat's site.

QuickTime Player

The lectures are streamed and recorded as MPEG-4 files, which are best played with Apple's QuickTime Player, a free download. We suggest not using the Windows Media Player for security reasons.

Mozilla

Mozilla is likely the best web browser to date. It is also the one with which you can experience these pages the best. This is not because we support only Mozilla, but because all the other browsers don't fully support the standards (CSS2, XHTML 1.0) used on this page.

BitchX

BitchX is UNIX's best IRC client. You can use it to join the online chat, if you don't want to use the Java applet. Note that most distributions will ship this client, e.g. on Debian, just `apt-get install bitchx`.

IRCle

IRCle is an IRC client for MacOS and OS X, which you may use to join the online chat, in case you don't want to use the Java applet.

mIRC

mIRC is the de-facto standard IRC client for Windows. You can use it to join the online chat, if you don't want to use the Java applet.
