I received my masters degree in philosophy, psychology, and political science from the University of Munich and my PhD in philosophy from the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany where for 3 years I was research associate at the philosophy department. I spent several years in Paris, New York, and Asia where I was involved in cultural studies and film theory, and worked as a journalist. I then worked in the media industry as a content manager. Since 2001 I 'm research associate at the Human Science Center, University of Munich and the Parmenides Foundation whose goal is to promote an understanding of thinking in all its facets in order to improve decision making in private and public enterprises. Further I'm scientific advisor and co-organizer of the Iconic Turn, a joint project of the Human Science Center and Burda Media to promote an interdisciplinary science of the visual. Since April 2003 I'm associated with the AI Lab, Zurich and project manager of the AI Lectures from Tokyo
